Our Story so far

Newport Mediation is a voluntary organisation that exists to promote harmony, reduce the fear of crime and improve the quality of life in the communities of Newport and surrounding areas. We recognise that this can only be achieved if people have a sense of personal and communal responsibility and are operating within a safe environment.

Newport Mediation seeks to create better harmony and the capacity within our communities to deal with conflict constructively.

We do this by:

The organisation has gone from strength to strength as we recognise that developing and maintaining partnerships is crucial for the long term future of Newport Mediation.

We currently have Service agreements with Newport City Homes, Bron Afon Housing, Charter Housing, Safer Newport and Torfaen Crime Partnership

We receive funding from The Wales Council for Voluntary Action, Volunteering in Wales Fund spread over 3 years for the development of in-house training and support for our volunteers

Newport Mediation embraces the values of capacity building, empowerment, social inclusion, personal development, improved interpersonal skills, which are reflected in values of our partners and included in the plans and strategies of Government, Police, local authorities and Housing Associations
